What if your child learned how to take initiative, solve problems, and build a businessβbefore they graduate high school?
The Futurepreneur business kits give kids a simple, guided way to start! Itβs everything they need to create, launch, and profit from their very own business! Your child will begin thinking like an entrepreneur! With just an hour or two a week, they will start them dreaming about whatβs possible - and what theyβre capable of.
And you'll want to grab one of these kits for your kids, especially as you read the Field Report with even more upcoming ways to get your kids plugged into places to promote their new business!
Last weekend was the baton pass heard around Vail as the original owners of the Vail Coffee Stop handed the keys to a new family of owners. And wow, is Vail happy to see the coffee stop between the tracks live on!
When the Tate family originally announced the closure, their social media post was met with a flurry of trips down memory lane by coffee lovers, Vail families, business owners, event-goers, and more. And while the Tate family knew it was time for them to say goodbye to the coffee truck they started five years ago, the decision wasn't easy.
Michael Tate, the founder of Vail Coffee Stop, said this to Trail Mix:
"Thank you, everyone, for the best wishes and interest in our next chapter. It's an exciting time for our family as the youngest has graduated from high school and is heading to college, and our oldest is preparing for graduation from college. Our focus will be on family: getting all the kids launched into adulthood and their own paths, spending time together, and doing some travel while the pieces for 'what's next' come together. That focus is the same reason we started the coffee shop - we wanted to try something new as a family and knew that Vail needed a good coffee shop where people could hang out. Owning a family business has been an adventure, and we are excited to see what family adventures are next."
Now, the baton has been passed to the King family, who are excited about their own adventures in serving Vail families! When Trail Mix asked about the takeover, Renee King, one of the new owners, said:
"Living in Vail for 23 years, I have seen the growth and expansion of the Vail community while still holding on to the small, warm community vibe. When I heard that the Vail Coffee Stop was going to close, I was saddened. I love what it stands for. I love the vision of growing the land between the tracks and offering the Vail community a place to connect and feel welcomed."
It's clear that this isn't just a coffee shop for the King family to continue, but a community to serve β and they're already working on exciting plans for what's next!
In addition to continuing the Tate family's vision of offering a place for the community, they're also planning to host a range of evening and day events, including book exchanges, plant exchanges, paint nights, dog days, special seasonal drinks, and more.
And the answer to the big question on everyone's mind β YES! Second Saturday vendor fairs will continue along with other events that bring the community together while supporting small businesses!
Their windows and patio are open, as are their hearts to new ideas about how to serve your family well. Stop by today, shake hands with a member of the King family, and let's show our enthusiasm for building local community one cup of coffee at a time.

Hurbert is devastatingly handsome, incredibly sweet, and in need of your help. He's currently being treated for a tumor and needs a foster or pre-adoptive home while he's receiving weekly chemotherapy. The good news: The treatment for his type of cancer is very successful, and PACC vets believe he will make a FULL recovery! Hurbert loves everyone he meets, human and canine alike, but does need to be kept separate from other dogs during the duration of his treatment (about 4-6 weeks). Please email pacc.medicalfoster@pima.gov with questions about this wonderful boy!
Fee: Hurbert is free to adopt. He is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines.
